floor the look of being brand new. Color sealers are more durable than clear sealers overall, with many having been applied in homes over 10 years ago with no problems. One important factor is the use of a mild neutral cleaner to maintain the floor.
Why Should I Color Seal My Grout?
Sometimes all of the dirt or stains cannot be removed from the grout after a thorough cleaning. Or, sometimes you may want to match or coordinate your grout color with other tiles or colors in the room. In those instances, a color sealer will be the best choice.
When Should I Clear Seal My Grout?
If the grout is very new, or if it has cleaned up very well, and you are satisfied with the look of the grout, then applying a clear sealer is fine.
Why Does Grout Get Dirty and Hard to Clean?
Because grout is below the surface of the tile or stone as you clean the floor, dirt is being pushed into the grout. And, because grout is porous the dirt gets absorbed into the grout, which makes it very hard to remove. In a bath or shower area, the grout gets discolored on the walls because of mold, mildew, and soap scum becoming imbedded in the grout over time.
Why Should I Have My Grout Sealed?
By having your grout professionally sealed, we will be able to keep dirt from accumulating IN the grout on your floors, but rather will remain ON top of the grout. This makes maintenance much easier and keeps your surfaces looking newer. By sealing the grout in bath or shower areas, it will reduce the possibility of the grout from becoming discolored.
